A drinking glass contains an ocean. A colony of ants is a city of millions. Scale reveals are one of the most powerful techniques in AI video and also one of the most misunderstood to prompt. These 5 prompts each use a completely different approach.

The common thread: scale reveals aren't about a single zoom — they're about defining what exists at each scale level before the transition happens.


1. Battlefield to Micro-Civilization — Continuous Zoom Across Six Orders of Magnitude

"Epic wide-angle shot of a vast ancient battlefield... The arrow releases... tracking it in extreme slow motion... the arrow's surface becomes a landscape. A microscopic civilization of tiny warriors the size of splinters wages war across the fletching."

Why this works: This prompt succeeds because it treats the scale transition as a three-phase camera journey — each phase with its own distinct focal description. Wide battlefield → tracking arrow in slow motion → macro reveal of civilization on the fletching. The critical detail is that the micro-world is fully specified before the camera arrives there: "miniature catapults hurl fragments of dust, warriors scale the carved runes like canyon walls, torches flicker, banners wave." Seedance can't invent a civilization that matches the epic tone of the macro scale — you have to build both worlds in the prompt and let the transition connect them. If you only describe the large scale and say "reveal something tiny," you get an empty zoom. Describe the destination in full before the camera lands there.

Second, the ending aerial pull-back reframes the entire scene: what felt like a close, intimate story snaps to reveal one small human against an impossible expanse. The key technique is the timestamped structure ([0-3s], [7-11s], [11-15s]) — it tells Seedance exactly when to be intimate and exactly when to pull back, so the contrast lands. A scale reveal that isn't timed is a zoom. One that's timed to the emotional arc of a scene becomes a statement.

Why this works: The "impossible interior" scale reveal depends entirely on specifying when the ordinary object becomes extraordinary. Without this trigger, Seedance defaults to a jump cut between the glass and the ocean, losing the reveal. The second technique: the glass's mundane setting (weathered wood, soft window light, specific grain and knots) is given as much detail as the ocean inside it. The contrast works because both worlds are equally grounded — a photorealistic table makes the impossible interior more impossible, not less. Starting with the aerial drone descent from above (familiar cinematic language) before dropping to ground-level ant-eye view makes the scale shift legible. Without the aerial establishing shot, the macro world has no reference point — nothing to measure the ant civilization against. Start wide, descend, then commit to the micro perspective with size-anchor vocabulary throughout.
