A gang of nasty but funny goblins huddle together plotting. The central goblin is the leader, bossy and smug, while the others are his motley crew, including one especially dopey goblin who looks confused and slow on the uptake. Their voices should be weird goblin-creature voices: scratchy, croaky, nasal, wheezy, sniffly, growly, squeaky, phlegmy, and puppet-like, never normal human speech. The leader should sound sharp, sneering, and bossy. One goblin should sound dim and slobbery. Another can sound twitchy and squeaky. Another can sound gruff and nasal. The mood is funny, odd, and mischievous, like a lost 1980s fantasy puppet skit. Shot 1 (0–4s) Medium wide shot of the goblin leader standing before his little crew, wagging a crooked finger and trying to sound inspiring while the others stare up at him. Dialogue (Leader, scratchy bossy voice): “OK boys, now I don’t want any of you to be disheartened… and do you know why?” The other goblins all nod eagerly. SFX: desert wind, goblin sniffing, little grunts and mutters Shot 2 (4–8s) Quick medium shot of the first goblin blurting out a silly answer. Then cut to the dopey goblin giving an even dumber one. Dialogue (Goblin 1, twitchy squeaky voice): “Because we pinched their lunch?” Dialogue (Dopey Goblin, wet dimwitted voice): “Because… we’re already dis-hearted?” The others glance at him. SFX: little goblin chuckles, sniffles, robe rustles Shot 3 (8–11s) Quick shots of two goblins each giving their own silly answer, talking over each other a bit. Dialogue (Goblin 3, gruff nasal voice): “Because the big fella said not to be?” Dialogue (Goblin 1, twitchy squeaky voice): “Because if we get disheartened, we get hit?” SFX: goblin snorts, muttering, little throat noises Shot 4 (11–15s) Back to the leader goblin, now deeply annoyed, glaring at the lot of them and putting them in their place with a nasty little goblin retort. Dialogue (Leader, sneering growly voice): “No, you miserable turnips… because tonight we nick what’s ours and make those fancy fools sorry they ever crossed goblins!” The crew react with excited ugly little grins and nods. SFX: goblin cackles, excited grunts, desert wind
